We are incredibly excited to announce the RIX Street Fest 2017 DJ Battle!!!  Do you think you have what it takes to move the RSF crowd?  Well now you may have a chance to compete for the grand prize on our main stage at Street Fest 2017!!!

Eligibility Rules:

ALL key members of the DJ/group MUST currently be register for the event.
ALL genres and sub-genres of DJ-centric music and artistry are accepted and encouraged!

Process and Judging:

 

Step 1:  Register

Step 2: Signing up using your email and paste your links to your music (i.e. SoundCloud, Mixcloud...etc) and other YouTube links.

1. Official RSF 2017 DJ Battle ENTRY RULES:

 

To be eligible:

​

• Must be 18 years old or older (Valid ID REQUIRED for entry to RSF 2017).

• Must NOT have been booked to perform at any prior RSF(RIX Street Fest) festival events   (including 2017).

• Must submit a registration form and a submit a video during open submission dates September 11 – 29, 2017 (see video submission rules for more details).

• 7 Finalists must be able to provide any necessary performance tools at the battle (Controller, CDs, Vinyl, Needles & Cartridges, USB Cables, Headphones….etc.)

2. Video Submission Rules:

 

Controllers can be used for submission videos; however, CDJ’s and turntables will be provided for the competition.  If you are using a controller for the competition, you must supply your own controller.

• All videos must be no more than 5 minutes in length. 

• Video routines MUST include a minimum of 5-tracks.

• All videos must be submitted with a completed registration form. Videos must include a   brief introduction that includes your DJ name, where you’re from, and why you want to     play RSF festival 2017.

• A full track list must accompany your video (track list section will be included on registration form).

• All videos must be in HD format (720p and higher) with an unedited direct audio recording of your routine.

• Videos may be used on YouTube and/or any other video outlets for promotional purposes only.

• ALL submissions must be received between September 11 – 29, 2017. Any video(s) after the open submission dates will not be considered.

• After review of the videos, 7 applicants will be picked for the competition on October 7     based off of the same judging criteria below. Each DJ will be contacted the week prior the competition. We will post the 7 finalists on our web page and our social media sites.

3. Competition and Judging Criteria:

The competition will consist of the following:

• Round 1: 5 Minute Set:

a. From the 7 DJ’s, judges will select 4 to advance to Round 2

• Round 2: 2 Minute Set:

a. From the 4 DJ’s, judges will select 2 to advance to the Final Round 3

• Round 3: 90 Second Set:

       a. Judge will select overall winner based on all sets.

 

We will choose one finalist who will go on to RSF 2018 to open our main stage and bragging rights to the first annual Street fest DJ Battle title! Good Luck!

 

Judging is based on 3 criteria:

 

1. Originality

2. Technicality

3. Stage Presence

 

• Your routine will also be judged on the following:

i. Technical: Overall mixing and rhythmic skill. Use of the equipment/mixer. Blends. Tricks
ii. Musicality: Track selection. Musical style. Musical awareness. Track flow. Track   compatibility.

 

PRIZES:
In addition to awesome exposure, winning DJs also take home incredible cash prizes and feature in the magazine.

 

We reserve the right to disqualify any DJ where, in our sole discretion, we believe cheating was involved.
